The Triple P – Positive Parenting Programme, is for parents of teenagers, and its aims are to make parenting easier and so promote teenager’s development.
The challenge for parents is to provide a home environment that guides and supports teenagers as they strive to become independent, well-adjusted young adults, this will often mean finding ways to deal with conflicts that may occur when the views of the teenager and the parent differ.
There is no single right way to parent and there are many different views on how to raise teenagers. Triple P has been helpful to many parents, helping them develop their own approach in dealing with the challenges of raising teenagers.
The programme is designed to support parents/carers in their parenting role with the aim of improving family relationships. The programme lasts for seven weeks – four weeks in a group with a trained facilitator and the remaining three weeks through phone contact at home.
